LOS ANGELES- CA State Senator Holly J. Mitchell is teaming up with LA County’s largest childcare provider - Crystal Stairs, the Child Care Alliance of Los Angeles (CCALA)  and KDW Apparel to get 7,500 masks to childcare workers.

San Francisco - Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) released the following statement regarding Phyllis Lyon’s passing. Phyllis Lyon and Del Martin were the first couple to be married during San Francisco’s 2004 Winter of Love. Lyon was an LGBTQ civil rights pioneer and a pillar of the San Francisco LGBTQ community. She died of natural causes at the age of 95:

Senator Wiener Pushes FDA to Let Gay/Bi Men Donate Convalescent Plasma

April 7, 2020

San Francisco -  Today, Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) sent a letter to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) asking them to allow gay and bisexual men who have recovered from COVID-19 to donate plasma. Convalescent plasma is currently being investigated as a potentially life-saving treatment for those suffering from severe COVID-19 infections. Despite that potential, the FDA continues to ban gay and bisexual men from donating blood or plasma, unless they have been celibate for three months.
