We are living in uncertain times. The COVID-19 pandemic has been another reminder that building housing – especially affordable housing – for vulnerable low-income Californians is more important than ever.
California’s drinking water challenges are too urgent to ignore. Too many of our residents are currently exposed to unsafe drinking water, including harmful levels of arsenic, nitrate or other chemicals resulting from agricultural and industrial practices, or failing water management systems.
The California State Senate is working closely with the Governor, the Wildfire Commission and public stakeholders to identify solutions and introduce legislation to protect utility customers, fire victims and the reliability of electric and gas service; while addressing climate change to prevent future catastrophes and ensure utility companies put safety and service ahead of profits.
