SACRAMENTO – Legislation advanced today from Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, that would help control the state’s growing wild pig population, reducing damage caused by the invasive species to the environment, private property and agriculture.

“With this vote we’re a step closer to controlling the destructive, non-native wild pig population, which is exploding across California,” Sen. Dodd said. “They are endangering sensitive habitats, farms and other animals. By increasing opportunities to hunt them we can reduce the threat to our state.”

Wine, Spirits Bottle Recycling Bill Clears Hurdle

SACRAMENTO – Legislation has advanced from Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins, D-San Diego, and Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, to add wine and distilled spirits bottles to California’s recycling program.

“California can increase the recycling rates of millions of bottles that would otherwise wind up in our landfills or be illegally discarded,” said Sen. Dodd. “This is a common sense bill that benefits our environment and consumers. I look forward to seeing it pass the full Assembly and be signed by Gov. Newsom.”
