Senator Hurtado Honors Fallen Officer Jonathan Diaz

June 15, 2020

SACRAMENTO, CA - SCR 86, designating the 19th Avenue Lemoore Overpass as the “Officer Jonathan Diaz Memorial Overcrossing” won bipartisan approval from the California State Senate with a 37-0 vote. The resolution by state Senator Melissa Hurtado, D-Sanger will memorialize the fallen Officer’s service and contributions to the community.

Senator Melissa Hurtado to Address Doctor Shortage in California

SACRAMENTO, CA – This year, Senator Melissa Hurtado (D-Sanger) introduced legislation to address the statewide shortage of minority healthcare providers among the COVID-19 crisis.  SB 1110 will establish the California Medicine Scholars Program (CMS), a three-year pilot program in four regions across the state that creates a pre-medical pathway pipeline program, in partnership with California Community Colleges.
