State, federal agencies postpone tax deadlines for earthquake victims
SACRAMENTO — Senator Lois Wolk (D-Davis) applauded yesterday’s announcement by the California Franchise Tax Board that the state agency will postpone tax deadlines for California taxpayers affected by the 6.1 earthquake in August that caused damage extending into Solano and Sonoma Counties.

Low interest loan will provide funding for Davis’ share of the surface water project
SACRAMENTO — Today the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) unanimously approved a resolution that authorizes the Board to provide Clean Water State Revolving Fund financing to the Woodland-Davis Clean Water Agency (WDCWA) for the Davis-Woodland Water Supply Project. 

(El Centro, CA) – After a long wait and continuous uncertainty over an $11 million bond for the construction of the El Centro Aquatic Center, the state’s Department of Finance recently announced that those funds have been finally approved. With this funding, the City of El Centro can carry out its plans to build out the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Sports Pavilion/Adams Park area with an aquatic center, replacing The Plunge, the old city pool demolished nearly 10 years ago.

 SB 1228 will provide infrastructure improvements along regional and federal trade corridors
(San Diego, CA) – A measure to provide infrastructure improvements along regional and federal trade corridors, authored by State Senator Ben Hueso, was signed by Governor Brown. SB 1228 maintains the Trade Corridors Improvement Fund (TCIF), which was set to expire fiscal year 2015-16. A press conference to discuss the bill will be held on Friday, October 3 at Cesar Chavez Park.
