(SACRAMENTO, CA) – This week, bipartisan legislation, authored by Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel) and Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham (R-San Luis Obispo), to mitigate the impact of the Diablo Canyon plant closure, earned key committee approval.   Senate Bill (SB) 1090 passed out of both the Senate Committee on Energy, Utilities and Communications and the Senate Committee on Environmental Quality.

SACRAMENTO – The Senate Health Committee passed Senate Bill 1152, which provides a more humane process for discharging homeless patients after their hospital stay, by a vote of 7-1.

Authored by Senator Ed Hernandez, O.D., (D-West Covina), Senate Bill 1152 addresses a practice known as “patient dumping” where homeless patients are discharged under unsafe conditions.
