Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) issued the following statement today in response to Governor Jerry Brown’s proposed 2015-16 state budget:

“The budget released today is an important first step in a process that will develop over the next several months.  I look forward to being part of that process, particularly as Chair of Budget Subcommittee No. 4 on State Administration and General Government and as a member of the Senate Budget and Fiscal Review Committee.

Eureka, CA – Knowing that Humboldt County and the North Coast need strong representation in the Capitol, State Senator Mike McGuire is pleased to be making his fourth trip here in the six weeks since he was sworn into office.
McGuire will start his Humboldt tour here in Eureka today and will be on the North Coast till Saturday the 10th.  He’ll meet with numerous individuals and groups, including people who need help with state agencies, local business leaders, and elected officials looking at ways to create more job opportunities for Humboldt residents.

Takes Health & Human Services gavel, remains in Senate Leadership

Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) will host a Law Enforcement Summit in the City of Perris on Friday, January 23, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Panelists will include Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin, California Highway Patrol (Riverside Area) Captain Amanda Snowden, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Shelley Kennedy-Smith and Perris Police Chief Michael Judge.

Panelists will discuss current law enforcement initiatives and provide public safety updates at the state, county and local levels.   

Sacramento – State Senate Pro Tem Kevin de Leon has appointed Sen. Bob Wieckowski (D-Fremont) to serve on four standing committees, in addition to chairing the Senate Environmental Quality Committee, de Leon announced today.

SACRAMENTO — Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de Leon announced today that he selected Senator Lois Wolk (D-Davis) to serve as the Majority Whip and appointed her to chair the Senate Budget Subcommittee #2 on Resources, Environmental Protection, Energy and Transportation.

SACRAMENTO – In addition to chairing the Senate Natural Resources and Water Committee, Senator Fran Pavley (D-Agoura Hills) will sit on a number of other key committees in the 2015-16 legislative session.
