Senator Archuleta Secures $400,000 for Upgrades and Improvements to Smith Park in Pico Rivera

NORWALK CA – State Senator Bob Archuleta has secured nearly $400,000 for the city of Pico Rivera to improve three of its Parks and Recreation facilities. The money is part of the $214.8-billion budget, the largest in the state’s history, signed Thursday by Governor Gavin Newsom.

The money includes $200,000 for the replacement of the playground at Rio Hondo Park; $70,000 for the replacement of the playground at Veterans and Ladies Auxiliary Park, and $95,000 for improvements to the swimming pool at Smith Park.

Senator Bob Archuleta Secures $5 Million for the A.J Padelford Park Expansion in Artesia

NORWALK CA – California State Senator Archuleta has been in talks with the city of Artesia’s need for open space and parkland. A.J. Padelford Park is located in the low income community of Artesia and is in desperate need of an expansion. The park size has not changed since its development in 1973 and provides 0.47 acres per 1,000 residents which is significantly below the Los Angeles County average of 3.3 acres per 1,000 residents.
