Pasadena, California – Today, State Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D–La Cañada Flintridge) sent a letter requesting the Department of Toxic Substance Control to adopt the recommendations made by the City of Pasadena on the Space Bank Mini Storage Facility Draft Removal Action Work Plan (RAW). This request follows up on a previous letter written by Senator Portantino on April 10th requesting an extension of the comment period.

Sacramento, CA – May 13, 2019 – California is one step closer to ending robocall scams after the State Senate today voted to advance SB 208, the Consumer Call Protection Act of 2019. The bill, authored by Senator Ben Hueso (D-San Diego), aims to stop illegal robocall scams known as “neighbor spoofing” whereby scammers attempt to trick consumers into answering calls from imposters posing as local callers.

California Foreign Service Officers would get driver's license extension under Wieckowski bill

Sacramento – Foreign Service Officers who are residents of California but are serving abroad would have their driver’s licenses remain in effect for the duration of their time outside the state and 30 days after they return, under Senate Bill 267, authored by Senator Bob Wieckowski (D-Fremont). The bill, which unanimously passed the Senate Thursday, grants the same type of extension to foreign service officers as for those serving in the armed forces.
