Perata Responds to Governor’s May Revision

Senate President pro Tem Don Perata (D-Oakland) made the following remarks today about the Governor’s May Revision to the state spending plan for 2008-09.

“This budget and its reasoning, candidly, is very disappointing. It’s really a budget that is beneath this great state of California. It’s kind of a subprime budget – risky borrowing for what we cannot afford. It’s an admission of failure.”

(SACRAMENTO) – Senate President pro Tem Don Perata (D-Oakland) released the following statement about the state’s water supply after the latest snow survey shows the water content at 67 percent of normal:

“The DWR snow survey report illustrates more than ever the need for immediate action to help use the water we have more wisely and to protect those drinking water sources that serve millions of people.”
