SACRAMENTO ­– With fewer locations available for California consumers to recycle beverage containers and redemption rates plummeting in the state, the Senate Environmental Quality Committee today approved SB 38, a bill by Sen. Bob Wieckowski to transform the broken system by shifting more responsibility onto beverage distributors and increasing locations where consumers can return their containers.
