(SACRAMENTO, CA)— Today, Senate Bill (SB) 977, authored by Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel) and sponsored by Attorney General Xavier Becerra, passed out of the Assembly Committee on Health on a 8 to 4 vote and is now headed to the Assembly Committee on Appropriations.  SB 977 will considerably strengthen the state’s oversight of private healthcare transactions.
