LONG BEACH, Calif.—As cases in Los Angeles County continue to rise, California Senators Lena A. Gonzalez and Tom Umberg, and Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell (D- Long Beach) sent a letter urging Governor Newsom expedite Emergency Funds to the Community Hospital of Long Beach in an effort to treat COVID-19 patients in the region.

San Francisco - Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) released the following statement regarding Governor Newsom's speech tonight in which he indicated he plans to lease Seton Medical Center in Daly City:

“We got some good news tonight: Governor Newsom indicated that the State plans to lease Seton Medical Center in Daly City to help with the expected surge in hospitalizations due to COVID-19. Seton Medical Center’s prior owners, Verity Health, had announced earlier in March that they planned to close the facility.
