Senators Hill & Hancock Hold Hearing To Examine What The State Has Done To Improve Oversight of Building Firms With A History Of Construction Defect Settlements

State Senators Jerry Hill and Senator Loni Hancock convene a hearing of the Senate Committee on Business, Professions and Economic Development to examine what state agencies have done to tighten oversight of firms with a history of construction defect settlements. State and local agencies are expected to outline their response to the June 2015 collapse of a fifth-floor balcony in a Berkeley apartment complex that killed six people and seriously injured seven others.

California Senate Passes Jerry Hill’s Bill to Crack Down on Water-Guzzling Households

UPDATE: Bay Area Lawmakers Introduce Legislation To Boost California Tour Bus Inspection Program

State Senator Jerry Hill and Assemblymembers David Chiu and Phil Ting (D-San Francisco) announce today that they will introduce legislation to improve California’s tour bus inspection program and provide more bus inspection funding for the California Highway Patrol. The legislation will also require coordination between the Department of Motor Vehicles and the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to identify unregistered buses.
