Landmark legislation to establish a UC teaching hospital receives bipartisan unanimous support

Roth’s (D-Riverside), Senate Bill (SB) 1199, which would establish a University of California, Riverside School of Medicine (UCRSOM) acute care teaching hospital in Riverside County, unanimously passed out of the California State Senate and is now headed to the Assembly.

SACRAMENTO) – Today, Governor Newsom released his revised 2022-2023 budget proposal which included $43.1M in funding to replace all existing outdoor sports fields (football, track, softball, and baseball) and add a stand-alone soccer field at California School for the Deaf, Riverside. These existing fields have not been updated in nearly seventy years.

Landmark legislation moves forward to establish a UC teaching hospital in Inland Southern California

(SACRAMENTO) – Yesterday, Senator Richard D. Roth’s (D-Riverside), Senate Bill (SB) 1199, which would establish a University of California, Riverside School of Medicine (UCRSOM) acute care teaching hospital in Riverside County, unanimously passed out of the Senate Education Committee and is headed to Senate Appropriations. With its own hospital, UCRSOM will be able to fortify a pipeline of physicians and provide a healthcare platform with the highest standard of care for the Inland Southern California region.

Senate Health Committee unanimously authorizes process to build new acute care psychiatric facilities in the state

(SACRAMENTO) – Yesterday, Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) presented Senate Bill (SB) 1143 which establishes a new funding process for counties to use to build additional acute care inpatient psychiatric facilities. The bill earned unanimous support and is on its way to the Senate Appropriations Committee.
