(SACRAMENTO) – Today, Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) proudly honored Kathy Michalak, Habitat for Humanity Riverside’s Executive Director, as the 31st Senate District’s Woman of the Year.

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) braved the rain alongside several other aviation enthusiasts and enjoyed the start of California Aerospace & Aviation Days.

“Though I rarely get the opportunity nowadays, I love to spend my free time up in the air flying,” said Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside). “The open, peaceful nature of our beautiful skies captured my fascination from a very young age and led me into three decades of service in the Air Force.”

(SACRAMENTO) – Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) has introduced legislation that will allow California drivers to lead social change. SB 1112 creates a specialized license plate giving Californians the option to replace one of the seven digits on their plate with a hashtag. Funds raised through this specialized plate will go to supportive services at Veterans Housing and Homelessness Prevention programs and No Place Like Home programs.

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, California took another step in the ongoing fight against human trafficking. SB 1104 – which will require schools to share human trafficking prevention resources with parents and guardians – cleared the Senate Education Committee with unanimous support.

(SACRAMENTO) – In an 8 to 0 vote, SB 1238 – authored by Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) – cleared the Senate Health Committee. The Medical Records Protection Act establishes a patient’s right to access their medical records before they are destroyed.

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, Senator Richard D. Roth stood up for thousands of California homeowners and demanded PACE lenders offer greater accountability, consumer protection, and transparency. SB 1087 received bipartisan support and was unanimously approved by the Senate Banking and Financial Institutions Committee.

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, Senator Richard D. Roth’s Medical Records Protection Act cleared another legislative milestone. After extensive questioning and contentious debate, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved SB 1238 in a bipartisan 6 to 0 vote, deciding that a patient has the right to be notified before their medical records are destroyed.

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, the Senate Transportation and Housing Committee approved a bill by Senator Richard D. Roth that will empower California drivers to lead social change one hashtag at a time. SB 1112 creates a specialized license plate allowing the use of the “#” symbol, which will fund supportive and transitional services.

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, Senator Richard D. Roth presented a pilot program that will help to alleviate a severe shortage of mental and behavioral health services in Inland Southern California.

Psychiatrists are in very short supply in Inland Southern California, which is a fast-growing, racially and ethnically diverse region of nearly 4.4 million people. Riverside County has roughly five psychiatrists per 100,000 people compared to the statewide average of roughly 14 psychiatrists.
