Senate Bill 540, which is part of a bipartisan package of bills aimed at lowering housing costs and spurring housing construction, was approved on a bipartisan vote of 29-7.

Assembly Approves Measure to Restore Funding to Riverside County’s Four Newest Cities

May 4, 2017

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, Senate Bill 130, which restores critical funding for the newly incorporated cities of Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Menifee and Wildomar, was approved by the California State Assembly on a bipartisan vote of 72-1.

Each of these cities incorporated prior to the passage of Senate Bill 89 (2011), which was one of the steps the Legislature took to close the State’s massive budget gap. SB 89 resulted in cities which had incorporated after 2004 losing critical public safety and municipal services funding that had previously been allocated to newly incorporated cities.
