SACRAMENTO - Senator Scott Wiener’s (D-San Francisco) Senate Bill 260, the Climate Corporate Accountability Act (CCAA), passed the Assembly Judiciary Committee by a vote of 6-3. It will now head to the Assembly Appropriations Committee. SB 260 would be the first law in the country to require U.S.-based companies — those doing business in California and generating over $1 billion in gross annual revenue — to disclose all of their greenhouse gas emissions to the California Secretary of State’s office.

SACRAMENTO - Today, Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) sent Senate Bill 357, the Safer Streets for All Act, to Governor Gavin Newsom’s desk for his action. The Legislature passed SB 357 last year, but Senator Wiener held the bill at the Senate desk, delaying its transmittal to the Governor.

SACRAMENTO - Today, Senator Scott Wiener’s (D-San Francisco) Senate Bill 964, the Behavioral Health Workforce Revitalization Act, passed the Assembly Health Committee in a unanimous, bipartisan vote. It will now be heard in the Assembly Higher Education Committee.

SB 964 increases California’s investment in its behavioral health workforce to retain workers, increase the size of the behavioral health workforce, and support behavioral health workers who are facing a significant increase in demand for services.

SACRAMENTO - Today, Senator Scott Wiener’s (D-San Francisco) legislation to improve patient access to prescription medication, Senate Bill 853, passed the Senate in a bipartisan, unanimous vote. It will now head to the Assembly for policy committee hearings.

SACRAMENTO – Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco)’s legislation, Senate Bill 1336, which establishes a carryforward tax credit for commercial cannabis retailers, has passed the Senate by a bipartisan vote of 26-3. It now moves to the Assembly for policy hearings.

SACRAMENTO - Senator Scott Wiener’s (D-San Francisco) legislation to address the student and faculty housing shortage, Senate Bill 886, passed the Senate by a vote of 31-1. It now heads to the Assembly for policy committee hearings.

SACRAMENTO - Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco)’s Senate Bill 1144, the Safe and Efficient Water Act, passed the Senate by a vote of 35-1. It will now head to the Assembly for policy committee hearings. SB 1144 requires public schools and state agencies to complete a water quality and efficiency assessment on their facilities. This bill ensures our public schools and state agencies have safe, drinkable water. Far too many school children and other California residents currently lack access to clean water.
