SACRAMENTO – In recognition of the critical role the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta plays in California’s economy and environment, Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, has designated the last week of September as Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Week.

Sacramento, CA - Senate Bill 1079, a measure authored by State Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – Burbank) to help decrease noise pollution by using sound activated devices, was signed into law by Governor Newsom today.   Streets for All, a nonprofit organization that advocates for street safety, was the sponsor of the measure.

SACRAMENTO – Sen. Bob Hertzberg of Van Nuys today issued the following statement after Gov. Newsom signed Senate Bill 1340 to extend existing property tax exclusions for new active solar energy systems.

SACRAMENTO – Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, announced today that Gov. Gavin Newsom has signed his bill to help hospitals respond to public health crises such as pandemics and natural disasters, ensuring patients get the care they need.

“California hospitals have been hit hard by the pandemic, destructive wildfires and other natural disasters,” Sen. Dodd said.  “That’s why I’m so thankful Gov. Newsom signed my bill, which will ensure that when a public emergency strikes, hospitals can respond, adapting to fast-changing conditions to serve patients as quickly as possible.”

Gavin Newsom has signed his legislation to assist the creation of affordable housing in California by identifying excess state property that could be used for development, advancing earlier initiatives from the governor to address the state housing crisis.

SACRAMENTO – Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego) has recently had two San Diego-focused bills signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom this month – SB 1027 and SB 1041.

Vallejo, CA — California Governor Gavin Newsom took action today to uncover why Californians are paying so much to fuel vehicles when he signed Senator Ben Allen's legislation requiring oil refiners to disclose monthly their profits from refining oil into gasoline.
SB 1322, the Oil Refiner Price Disclosure Act, will require the state’s oil refiners to report each month on the cost of the crude oil they buy, the wholesale price of the gasoline they sell, and their per gallon profits.
