SACRAMENTO, CA – The California Senate  today passed a bill by Senator Susan Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) that provides additional funding to school districts and charter schools that meet the student-to-teacher ratio of twenty to one.

Senate Bill 1431 will allow students to receive more critical individualized attention and interaction with teachers by incentivizing local education agencies to lower the student-to-teacher ratio to 20:1 within Kindergarten – Third (K-3) grade classrooms.

Senate Approves Proposal to Provide a Full Property Tax Exemption for 100 Percent Disabled Veterans

SACRAMENTO, CA – Yesterday, the California State Senate passed SB 1357, provides tax relief for disabled veterans throughout California. The measure, introduced by Senator Bob Archuleta (D-Pico Rivera), creates an alternative disabled veterans’ exemption, which confers a full exemption from property tax for the entire value of the disabled veteran’s principal place of residence if the disabled veteran taxpayer has lost one or more limbs, is totally blind, and has a 100% United States Department of Veterans Affairs (USDVA) disability rating.
