UKIAH—Yesterday, alongside local leaders, families, neighbors, and pickleball enthusiasts—Senator Mike McGuire announced $600,000 in state funding to make critical improvements at Oak Manor Park in Ukiah.

SACRAMENTO – Sen. Catherine S. Blakespear, D-Encinitas, on Tuesday issued the following statement regarding comments made by President Trump at a campaign rally on Monday.
“I’m appalled and disgusted that President Trump would suggest that the destruction of San Diego or Los Angeles would be ‘a very small price to pay’ in a war with Iran. This is unacceptable from our commander in chief, whose duty is to protect the national security of the entire nation and all Americans, not just the cities he likes.”

The legislation would have created greater safeguards and disclosure when state and local law enforcement partner with federal or out-of-state law enforcement.

LAMONT, Calif. (October 1, 2026)— State Senator Melissa Hurtado (D-Bakersfield) joined local leaders Thursday afternoon at Bear Mountain Park to celebrate $150,000 in state funding she secured for public safety improvements in Lamont.
The funding will support safety upgrades at Bear Mountain Park and other community facilities, including improved park lighting, mitigation of unsafe public pool facilities and the removal or rehabilitation of unsafe restroom facilities.
