Sacramento, California – Senator Anthony J. Portantino’s (D – La Cañada Flintridge) sensible gun control bills SB 61 and SB 376 have been signed by Governor Newsom. SB 61 would limit the purchase of a center-fire, semi-automatic firearm to one per month.  Additionally, SB 61 would prohibit the sale of these high-powered weapons to anyone under 21.

PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff Information

PG&E has announced a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) in Stanislaus County in response to high wind speeds in the area. The shutoff will begin at 12:00 PM on October 9, 2019. After strong winds have passed, PG&E will inspect power lines and restore electricity when deemed safe.

Governor Newsom Signs Jojo’s Act to Aid Severely Disabled Students Who Rely on Medicinal Cannabis to Attend School

The bill is a boon for parents of severely disabled students who rely on medicinal cannabis to attend school. SB 223 enables parents to administer their child’s dose on K-12 campuses under strict rules and conditions as long as their school district allows it.
