Senator Archuleta’s Bill to Ensure Preservation of Home Equity in Foreclosure Proceedings Clears Committee

Pico Rivera, CA – Senator Archuleta’s bill SB 1323 to require lenders in foreclosure proceedings to hire a realtor and sell the secured property for its appraised value on a multiple listing service has passed the Senate Judiciary Committee. This would allow the defaulted homeowner to be paid for their full savings in home equity in every applicable foreclosure.

Senate Approves Proposal to Provide a Full Property Tax Exemption for 100 Percent Disabled Veterans

SACRAMENTO, CA – Yesterday, the California State Senate passed SB 1357, provides tax relief for disabled veterans throughout California. The measure, introduced by Senator Bob Archuleta (D-Pico Rivera), creates an alternative disabled veterans’ exemption, which confers a full exemption from property tax for the entire value of the disabled veteran’s principal place of residence if the disabled veteran taxpayer has lost one or more limbs, is totally blind, and has a 100% United States Department of Veterans Affairs (USDVA) disability rating.

Legislation to Prevent Food Insecurity Among Military Families Passes Senate

SACRAMENTO, CA – The California State Senate has passed SB 950, which would
require the State Department of Social Services (DSS) to submit a request to the United States Department of Agriculture, on or before December 31, 2023, to waive a federal requirement in order to exclude the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) for members of a uniformed service from countable income in the calculation of CalFresh eligibility.

Sacramento - State Senator Bob Archuleta’s (D-Pico Rivera) bill to improve the safety of illegal fireworks handling and disposal has passed the Senate, and is currently making its way through the Assembly.
Senate Bill 277, improves California’s safe handling and disposal of confiscated illegal fireworks by establishing an enforcement and disposal fund to better coordinate enforcement efforts between the State Fire Marshal and local agencies.

"Hydrogen energy will be an important part of our clean energy future, and exciting new technologies in that sector will pave the way for zero emissions vehicles and transportation in California," stated Archuleta.

SACRAMENTO, CA – the California State Senate passed Senator Bob Archuleta’s (D-Pico Rivera) Joint Resolution No. 3, urging support for the Battleship USS Iowa Museum and National Museum of the Surface Navy Act of 2021. The joint resolution passed unanimously through both houses of the state legislature and urges the United States Congress to pass, and the President of the United States to sign, the Act, which calls for construction of the National Museum of the Surface Navy aboard the Battleship USS Iowa at the Port of Los Angeles.
