Bill Severely Restricting Use of Rodenticides Signed Into Law

SACRAMENTO – Senator Henry Stern (D-Los Angeles) thanked Governor Newsom during a virtual news conference today for signing AB 1788 (Bloom, Stern, Friedman), which severely tightens the use of second generation anticoagulant rodenticides (SGARs) until  the state’s Department  of Pesticide  Regulation (DPR) does a complete re-evaluation of the use of the deadly poisons here in California.

SACRAMENTO – As a record number of voters in California and across the nation prepare to cast vote-by-mail (VBM) ballots in the November 3, 2020, General Election, the amount of mis-information about people’s VBM rights also appears to be at an all-time high.  Putting an end to that misinformation – and prosecuting people who intentionally attempt to suppress the rights of VBM voters – is the goal of SB 739 (Stern), which has been signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom and will take effect immediately.

Stern Bill to Combat Vote-By-Mail Misinformation Heads to Governor’s Desk

SACRAMENTO – Making sure people are penalized for intentionally spreading false and misleading information about every Californian’s right to receive and return a vote-by-mail ballot is the goal of SB 739 (Stern), which was sent to the Governor today after passing the Senate on a bi-partisan 32-0 vote early Tuesday morning.  The bill passed the Assembly on a bi-partisan 72-1 vote on Sunday night.
