Sacramento, California – Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – La Cañada Flintridge) was joined by educational leaders during a press conference this morning to announce Senate Bill 830, a measure that will determine supplemental funding for K-12 schools based on the daily average student enrollment numbers.  

SONOMA – Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, will host a virtual town hall on housing Jan. 11 featuring California Treasurer Fiona Ma, a longtime champion of tax credits and other incentives for affordable housing, and Gustavo Velasquez, director of the Department of Housing and Community Development.

The town hall will be streamed live over multiple channels and broadcast on KSVY Sonoma. Panelists will take live and submitted questions.

State Sen. Sacramento, California – Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – La Cañada Flintridge), along with an impressive list of co-authors, announced today that he is amending Senate Bill 485 to extend the current film and television production tax credit program for five more years.  

SAN DIEGO – Senator Ben Hueso today announced that he has selected San Diego resident William “Bill” Glover as 2021 Veteran of the Year for the 40th Senate District.

“Bill Glover truly fulfills the promise of ‘no man left behind,’” said Sen. Hueso. “He has spent most of his life taking care of his fellow soldiers – while in the service, as well as afterward, providing them with the necessary resources and connections to transition back to civilian life.”
