Sacramento, Calif. – El 31 de enero de 2022, la Senadora Lena A. Gonzalez (D-Long Beach) emitió la siguiente declaración sobre el Proyecto de Ley del Senado SB 342 que habría agregado dos puestos de justicia medioambiental a la junta directiva del Distrito de Gestión de la Calidad Atmosférica South Coast (SCAQMD):

WOODLAND HILLS, CA – Senator Henry Stern (D-Los Angeles) joined Captain Ford of the West Valley Area California Highway Patrol, alongside victims of reckless driving and LA City Councilmembers Blumenfield and Lee, to ring the alarm about the speeding epidemic that is taking hundreds of lives across California.

“Cars are weapons, and whether it’s a sideshow, a street race or just excessive speeding, these are not victimless crimes.” said Senator Stern. 

WOODLAND HILLS – Senator Henry Stern (D-Los Angeles) vowed to work for additional enforcement and penalties for illegal street racing and sideshows, along with augmented funding for law enforcement.

SACRAMENTO - Today, Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) released the following statement after the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit published a unanimous decision upholding SB 822, California’s Net Neutrality law. Senate Bill 822 was authored by Senator Wiener in 2018, and was signed into law. It has undergone multiple legal attacks from the telecom and cable industries and from the Trump Administration.

SACRAMENTO – Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco)’s legislation, Senate Bill 379, the Solar Access Act, has passed the Senate by a bipartisan vote of 31-1. It now moves to the Assembly to be heard in policy committees. SB 379 implements instant, online solar permitting in counties with over 150,000 residents. This legislation will greatly decrease approval times for residential solar and solar-plus-storage systems, cut permitting costs for local governments and homeowners, and help California meet its greenhouse gas emission reduction goals.

(SACRAMENTO) – Senator Monique Limón (D-Santa Barbara) released the following statement in response to the 2022- 2023 California Proposed Budget:

Sacramento, CA – Senate Bill 230, an environmental protection measure authored by Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – La Cañada Flintridge) to improve drinking water by investigating Constituents of Emerging Concern (CECs), passed the Senate floor.

SACRAMENTO - Today, Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) reintroduced legislation, Senate Bill 879, also known as the PET (Prohibiting Extraneous Testing) Act. 

WHO:               State Senator Henry Stern (D-Los Angeles) with victims and community groups, along with a briefing from Southern Division California Highway Patrol leaders.

WHAT:             Building on last year’s bipartisan legislation and funding efforts, Stern will announce legislation to combat side-shows, street racing, and reckless driving across the region.
