Sacramento, CA – State Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – La Cañada Flintridge), along with State Senator Connie M. Leyva and Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez, jointly sent a letter requesting that $280 million of the Cap and Trade Greenhouse Gas Reduction Funds (GGRF) be allocated for the Gold Line Foothill Extension project.  The funds would aid the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority’s efforts to bring the light rail project to the San Bernardino County community of Montclair.

Jasmine’s Law will help patients with complex medical conditions continue vital care

SACRAMENTO – As a response to the insecurity that exists in the health insurance market, Senator Ed Hernandez, chair of the Senate Health Committee, has amended Senate Bill 133 to help patients complete treatment with their doctor under a new plan if their health insurance carrier leaves the market.

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Today, Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel), state legislative leaders, community leaders, and environmental justice and agricultural groups announced Senate Bill (SB) 623, which would establish the Safe and Affordable Drinking Water Fund to provide short- and long-term drinking water solutions to Californians who lack access to safe and affordable drinking water.
