Titled Transportation Summit 2015 and sponsored by Sen. Bob Hertzberg, the Valley Economic Alliance and the Valley Industry and Commerce Association, the event will be held at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys.  The summit theme is “It’s Our Turn: The Valley’s Unmet Transportation Needs.”

The review of quality-of-life concerns will be held at the Tarzana Hospital Women’s Pavilion. Guest speakers will focus on key issues such as transportation, water and emergency preparedness.
The event is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and will last about two hours.

Senate committee hears update on Southern California's efforts to adapt to climate change effects

Los Angeles – The state Senate’s Environmental Quality Committee held its third regional hearing of the year on how local agencies are planning to adapt to the inevitable effects of climate change today at the Ronald Reagan State Building.
“Obviously it’s a huge and complex topic and you have provided us with an important overview,” said Senator Bob Wieckowski, the committee’s chair, speaking to those who testified at the hearing.
