Governor Signs Nine Bills by Dr. Richard Pan

Sacramento – Governor Jerry Brown has signed the following nine bills by Dr. Richard Pan into law:
SB 144 will finally bring completion to flood control projects along the American and Sacramento Rivers and projects to protect the Natomas floodplain that have been years in the making; and in doing so, will bring hundreds of millions of federal flood control dollars to our region.

Prime Time Living Magazine presented Wolk with its Prime Time Heroes Award at a dinner in Fairfield for her “significant contributions to the efforts of seniors in the community.”

SACRAMENTO – San Fernando Valley residents are invited to a pair of upcoming events to discuss community issues and looming transportation needs on Thursday, Oct. 22 and Monday, Oct. 26.
The first event, a “community briefing” sponsored by Sens. Bob Hertzberg and Fran Pavley, is to review quality-of-life concerns and will be held at the Tarzana Hospital Women’s Pavilion. Guest speakers will focus on key issues such as transportation, water and emergency preparedness.

Disabled Get Help From Pavley Legislation

SACRAMENTO -- Individuals with disabilities and their families will be able to save money, tax free, without fear of losing eligibility for public assistance under two bills signed by Gov. Jerry Brown.Senate Bill 324 by Senator Fran Pavley of Agoura Hills and Assembly Bill 449 by Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin of Thousand Oaks set up a state-run savings program. The bills allow California to participate in a new program, the Achieving a Better Life Experience Act, signed by President Barack Obama in December.
