Senator Hueso Introduces Joint Resolution Urging State to Sue Federal Government over Cross-Border Pollution in the Tijuana River Valley

San Diego, CA – March 16, 2018 – Senator Ben Hueso (D-San Diego) today introduced a resolution in the California State Legislature calling on Governor Jerry Brown’s Administration to initiate a lawsuit against the federal government for its failure to properly address the flow of raw sewage and wastewater that continually pours over the border from Tijuana into San Diego County.

Natural Resources Agency Issues RFI for Water Importation to Salton Sea

December 8, 2017

Imperial Valley, CA – December 8, 2017 – The California Natural Resources Agency today issued a Request for Information (RFI) focused on the importation of water to the Salton Sea. The purpose of this RFI is to attract new ideas that will complement current statewide recovery efforts.

The RFI can be found on the Natural Resource Agency’s website at: http://resources.ca.gov/salton-sea/. The submission period is open through March 9, 2018.

California Legislature Passes Bill to Establish California Trade Office in Mexico City

September 13, 2017

San Diego, CA – September 13, 2017 – A bill authored by Senator Ben Hueso (D-San Diego) and Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) that would instruct the director of the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development to establish an international trade and investment office in Mexico has passed both houses of the state legislature with overwhelming bipartisan support, and is now heading to the Governor’s office for his signature or veto.
