March 14, 2018: Sen. Mitchell, Controller Yee unveil legislation to expand sexual harassment prevention training to workers in all sectors

SACRAMENTO — Today, California Sen. Holly J. Mitchell and state Controller Betty T. Yee announced legislation to help address the prevalence of workplace sexual harassment.

Senate Bill 1343 would provide training to more California workers on preventing sexual harassment, as well as how to recognize harassment and who to contact if victimized.

March 13, 2018: Culver City students, educators honor shooting victims

Wednesday, March 14, more than 2,000 Culver City students will be joining thousands of other Angelenos in a nationwide walkout to honor the victims of the Parkland, Fla., shooting.

Students will congregate for one hour on the Culver City High School football field to rally and deliver speeches expressing their concerns and worries about their own safety. Email for more information.

Their goal is noble: Raise public awareness to the issue of gun violence, create more civically minded students and support fellow students in Parkland.

March 6, 2018: Subcommittee holds hearing on investigation and response to sexual harassment allegations

SACRAMENTO – Assembly and Senate legislators will today examine how best to investigate and respond to sexual harassment incidents, complaints and allegations in the fourth hearing of the Joint Committee on Rules Subcommittee on Sexual Harassment Prevention and Response.

The Subcommittee hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. March 6, in Capitol Room 4203.
