Exoneree justice bill ok’d 38-0

SACRAMENTO – The California Senate today passed Senate Bill 1050 by a unanimous 38-0 vote to extend services and support for exonerated people released from prison after their wrongful convictions are overturned.

SACRAMENTO – A key policy panel today approved a plan to help end childhood deep poverty by modestly raising cash grants for eligible working-class families.

Sen. Holly J. Mitchell, D-Los Angeles, today spoke in support of SR 107 commemorating the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. "We must be sensitive to all those who are forced to flee their home country and come to America," Mitchell said. "It’s our responsibility to accept and acknowledge everyone to the land of the free."
