Sen. Dodd Issues Statement on Tubbs Fire Cause

SACRAMENTO – Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, issued the following statement today on the Cal Fire finding that the 2017 Tubbs fire was caused by a private electric line and not PG&E utility equipment:

“This underscores the idea that we all have a role to play in wildfire prevention,” Sen. Bill Dodd said. “Regardless, it doesn’t negate the systemwide issues plaguing PG&E and the need for change in its leadership and culture. Afterall, Cal Fire previously found PG&E responsible for over a dozen Northern California wildfires and the cause of others remains under investigation.”

Sen. Dodd Introduces Transportation Savings, Streamlining Bill

SACRAMENTO – Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, has introduced legislation that would reduce the cost of road, bridge, bicycle and pedestrian projects that use federal transportation funds, allowing more improvements with the same amount of money.

“My bill would streamline an often duplicative and bureaucratic process, making every transportation dollar count,” Sen. Dodd said. “We can use that savings to expand both the number and quality of projects, providing Californians with the good roads they deserve.”

SACRAMENTO – Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, made the following comment today on the announcement that PG&E would pursue bankruptcy protection:

“I’m disappointed that PG&E's hubris and mismanagement have led to this unfortunate point,” said Sen. Dodd. “While the CEO has resigned, there must be further change on the board of directors. Now, the Public Utility Commission’s priority must be to protect ratepayers and residents. And above all, PG&E must be held to safety mandates.”
