SACRAMENTO – Today, Governor Brown signed Senate Bill 618 authored by Senator Steven Bradford (D-Gardena). SB 618 requires the integrated resource plans (IRPs) of all load-serving entities, which include investor-owned utilities (IOUs), electric service providers (ESPs), and community choice aggregators (CCAs), to contribute to a diverse and balanced portfolio of resources.

SACRAMENTO ­– Yesterday, Governor Jerry Brown signed Senate Bill 549 into law. Senator Steven Bradford (D-Gardena) introduced SB 549 to ensure that the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) is made aware in a timely fashion when Investor Owned Utilities (IOUs) redirect funds intended for safety-related project

SACRAMENTO – Late Monday evening, Governor Jerry Brown signed Senate Bill 489, which will extend the period of time allowed for hospitals and emergency physicians to bill for emergency services provided to workers injured on the job.

SACRAMENTO – This afternoon, Senate Bill 620 was once again approved by the Senate, this time for a concurrence vote, following its passage in the Assembly. Senator Steven Bradford (D-Gardena) introduced SB 620 to provide California judges with necessary discretion at sentencing for felony criminal cases in which a firearm was used.

SACRAMENTO - Senator Steven Bradford (D- Gardena) introduced Senate Bill 789, a measure to streamline Inglewood sports and entertainment projects, expedite transit projects to serve Inglewood and the upcoming Olympics, while ensuring the protection of existing community members and their homes.

Sacramento (CA) – Over the weekend, three people were killed and at least 34 were injured in a hate rally of several hundred right-wing extremists on the campus of the University of Virginia. The stated intention of this white nationalist rally was to protest the removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee, general of the Confederate Army, yet it was fueled by white supremacy ideology.
 

SACRAMENTO - Today, Governor Jerry Brown signed Senate Bill 621 into law. Senator Steven Bradford (D-Gardena) introduced SB 621 to make certain that part-time teachers in private schools receive their justly-deserved compensation at the same rate as full-time teachers.

“I am pleased that California teachers working part-time for private schools will receive fair pay,” said Bradford.
