New Data Released Today Shows the Percentage of Medical Exemptions Have More than Quadrupled Since Passage of SB 277 in 2015

SACRAMENTO – The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) released their annual immunization assessment today, showing that the percentage of Kindergartners with permanent medical exemptions have risen once again from 0.2 percent prior to the passage of SB 277 in 2015, to 0.9 percent this year.

Senate Committee Approves Bill to Remove Roadblock to Affordable Housing

SACRAMENTO – Legislation authored by Senator Ben Allen (D - Santa Monica) and Senator Scott Wiener (D- San Francisco) to repeal Article 34 of the California Constitution passed the Senate Housing Committee today on a vote of 9 - 0.  The bill is sponsored by Mayor Eric Garcetti and the City of Los Angeles, and supported by the California Association of Realtors and numerous housing advocacy organizations.
