San Francisco— Today, Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) issued the following statement following San Francisco Mayor London Breed and Supervisor Rafael Mandelman’s announcement to move forward legislation to implement SB 1045:  

NAPA, CA – As legislators prepare to meet today in Napa over wildfire insurance, Senator Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens) pointed to a new report revealing the impacts of extreme wildfire and other climate-caused events on Californians’ health. People living near wildfire disasters could see increased deaths, respiratory illness from wildfire smoke, and mental health needs in the years ahead.

Sacramento, CA – Dr. Richard Pan, a pediatrician and state senator representing the Sacramento area, co-authored a commentary released today in Pediatrics, a journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics along with Dorit Rubinstein Reiss, a UC Hastings law professor.

SACRAMENTO – Members of California’s Legislative Delta Caucus, including its co-chairs, Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, and Assemblymember Jim Frazier, D-Discovery Bay, sent a letter today to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency objecting to a $1.6 billion loan for construction of the state’s controversial twin tunnels project on the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta known as WaterFix.
