San Diego, CA… Senator Ben Hueso (D-San Diego) introduced Senate Bill 899, legislation that would prohibit business establishments from charging customers different prices for similar or like goods on the basis of gender.  SB 899 also requires retailers and grocers to notify customers of their right not to be charged differently for similar products.

Senator Galgiani’s Legislation Eliminating Compassionate and Medical Parole For Cop Killers Clears Key Senate Committee

Sacramento--- Today, Senator Cathleen Galgiani (D-Stockton) announced the passage of Senate Bill 6 from the Senate Appropriations Committee. SB 6 eliminates the ability of convicted cop killers to be eligible for release from prison under compassionate or medical parole provisions. The bill was sponsored by the California Narcotics Officers’ Association and enjoyed a wide breadth of law enforcement support.
