SACRAMENTO – Having now represented the Los Angeles community of Little Armenia in the Legislature for a decade, Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de León said it is only natural that he becomes the first Senator to join the California Armenian Legislative Caucus.
“It has been a great honor to serve thousands of Armenian-Americans living in my district,” said Senator De León (D-Los Angeles). “It is only fitting that I become a member of Armenian Caucus where I feel right at home.”

Good afternoon. I’d like to welcome all of our guests from across the nation and from across the People’s Republic of China. Thank you all for being here and for the opportunity to say a few words.

Los Angeles is a fitting venue for this event. It’s an extremely diverse place, with residents of all colors and creeds, wealthy and poor.

On Friday, Senators thanked advocates who supported the California Climate Leadership package

(JURUPA VALLEY, CA) -- Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) announced today that the City of Jurupa Valley will recognize him with a proclamation for his fight to save Riverside County’s newest cities on Tuesday, September 22, 2015.

Local leaders are praising Senator Roth’s bipartisan leadership and hard work with the successful passage of Senate Bill 107, the local government budget trailer bill that provides financial relief for Riverside County’s newest cities.

SACRAMENTO – For years, the state returned a lower percentage of property tax dollars to four Santa Clara County cities because of a discrepancy in the law. With the Legislature’s passage of Senate Bill 107 that contains a provision sought by Senator Jim Beall, those cities can see that discrepancy eliminated with the stroke of the Governor’s pen.

Senate Bill 107 includes critical provisions to erase debt incurred by Riverside County cities as a result of 2011 Vehicle License Fee shift

SACRAMENTO – A bill that protects large employers and their workers from unfair healthcare premiums is headed to the desk of Governor Jerry Brown. Senate Bill 546, authored by Senator Mark Leno, improves transparency in the large group healthcare market by requiring insurance providers to disclose the factors used in increasing their rates. The bill passed the Assembly yesterday with bipartisan support.
