SACRAMENTO – Senator Connie M. Leyva (D-Chino) released the following statement in response to Governor Jerry Brown’s State of the State address to a joint session of the California State Legislature:

SACRAMENTO – Earlier today, the Senate Education Committee passed important legislation authored by Senator Connie M. Leyva (D-Chino) that will improve the safe and reliable access to comprehensive reproductive health services for college students in California.

SACRAMENTO – In an effort to protect women and others from being victimized, Senator Connie M. Leyva (D-Chino) today introduced important legislation to ban secret settlements (confidentiality provisions in settlement agreements) in cases of sexual assault, sexual harassment, and sex discrimination.

SACRAMENTO – Senator Connie M. Leyva (D-Chino) today issued the following statement regarding legislation that she intends to introduce in January 2018:

SACRAMENTO – In light of recent public disclosure of possible sexual harassment and assaults by film producer Harvey Weinstein and building on her previous successful efforts to ensure justice for victims of rape and sexual assault, Senator Connie M. Leyva (D-Chino) today announced that—when the California State Senate reconvenes in early January—she will introduce legislation to ban secret settlements (confidentiality provisions in settlement agreements) in sexual assault, sexual harassment and sex discrimination cases.

SACRAMENTO – As the Chair of the Select Committee on Manufactured Home / Mobilehome Communities, Senator Connie M. Leyva (D-Chino) is proud to announce that Governor Jerry Brown signed three bills authored by the Senator and another that she coauthored that will improve the lives of mobilehome residents and the availability of affordable housing in California.
