SACRAMENTO – Today, Senator Ed Hernandez, O.D., (D-West Covina) released the following statement on the SCOTUS decision relating to “crisis pregnancy centers.”

SACRAMENTO – On Tuesday, June 26, Assembly Health Committee is expected to take up a number of bills authored by Senator Ed Hernandez, O.D. (D-West Covina) that protect California’s health care gains and ensure vulnerable Californians are properly taken care of.

SACRAMENTO – Senate Bill 1023, a bill which would expand access to sexual and reproductive health services by ensuring coverage of telehealth, moved out of the Senate Wednesday by a bipartisan vote of 24-5.

SACRAMENTO – Today, the State Senate approved passage of Senate Bill 1152, which provides a more humane process for discharging homeless patients after their hospital stay.

Authored by Senator Ed Hernandez, O.D., (D-West Covina) and approved by a vote of 26-13, Senate Bill 1152 addresses a practice known as “patient dumping” where homeless patients are discharged under unsafe conditions.

SACRAMENTO – Today, the State Senate approved passage of Senate Bill 910, which prohibits the sale of short term limited duration health insurance in California.

SACRAMENTO – Today, the State Senate approved passage of Senate Bill 1108, which prohibits work requirements as a condition of Medi-Cal eligibility.

CLOVIS, Calif. – California Health Sciences University in Clovis will host their first College of Pharmacy Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, May 19, 2018.

These 62 students will be the first ever Doctor of Pharmacy graduates from a program offered in the Central Valley.

“Our first graduation marks a major historical milestone for our University,” said Florence Dunn, President of CHSU. “We are honored to celebrate the addition of 62 new pharmacists into the health care profession, many of whom will serve our local region.”
