Release: Policy Committee Approves Bill to Help Californians Afford their Health Care

SACRAMENTO – The Senate Health Committee passed Senate Bill 1255, which establishes state-funded subsidies for Californians to purchase health coverage through Covered California, by a vote of 8-1.

Authored by Senator Ed Hernandez, O.D., (D-West Covina), SB 1255 would direct Covered California to administer state-funded subsidies to Californians who have to pay more than 8% of their annual household income on insurance premiums.

Release: Senator Hernandez Asks LA District Attorney to Investigate City of Industry

SACRAMENTO – Senator Ed Hernandez, O.D., (D-West Covina) is requesting the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office launch an investigation into the city of Industry, which is a charter city of about 200 residents in the San Gabriel Valley.

Since the city of Industry is within Senator Hernandez’ Senate District, he has witnessed the company town mentality and past bad governance from city officials for years.
