SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sen. Holly J. Mitchell, chair of the Senate Budget Committee, at 10 a.m. today in Room 211 of the state Capitol will hold a press briefing on the proposed 2017-18 state budget.

Sen. Holly J. Mitchell was to be the keynote speaker at a June 3, 2017 event in Los Angeles called the Kaiser Hippocrates Circle Ceremony for about 20 middle school students careers in the medical field. As chair of the Senate Budget Committee, however, Mitchell was forced to cancel her in-person appearance so she could oversee conference committee hearings in Sacramento. Reform bills by Sens. Ricardo Lara and Holly J. Mitchell now in Assembly 
SACRAMENTO – The California Senate today approved the last in a package of criminal justice-reform bills seeking to improve public safety, save taxpayers money and put greater emphasis on prevention, rehabilitation and maintaining family cohesion.
