"The unexpected death of San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee reminds us that life is too short and we need to make the most of our fleeting time on Earth. 

"Ed believed that and worked to achieve many great accomplishments throughout his life, including becoming the first Asian American mayor of one of America’s finest cities. A city, by the way, that was built by Chinese immigrants.

SACRAMENTO – Today, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America initiated litigation challenging Senate Bill 17.

Senator Ed Hernandez, O.D. issued the following statement:

“This lawsuit is just another example of Big Pharma refusing to accept any responsibility for the skyrocketing costs of prescription drugs. The idea that anyone other than drug companies is responsible for price increases is absurd. I’m confident the law will be upheld.”

Imperial Valley, CA – December 8, 2017 – The California Natural Resources Agency today issued a Request for Information (RFI) focused on the importation of water to the Salton Sea. The purpose of this RFI is to attract new ideas that will complement current statewide recovery efforts.

The RFI can be found on the Natural Resource Agency’s website at: http://resources.ca.gov/salton-sea/. The submission period is open through March 9, 2018.

San Francisco –  Today, Senator Scott Wiener issued the following statement after Senator Dianne Feinstein and Representative Mark DeSaulnier sent a letter to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission requesting that funding from Regional Measure 3, which is scheduled to go before the voters next year, be used on a “Southern Crossing” bridge south of the Bay Bridge:
