Senator Holly J. Mitchell Secures Masks for Childcare Providers in Los Angeles County

LOS ANGELES- CA State Senator Holly J. Mitchell is teaming up with LA County’s largest childcare provider - Crystal Stairs, the Child Care Alliance of Los Angeles (CCALA)  and KDW Apparel to get 7,500 masks to childcare workers.

We are concerned about the spread of COVID-19 in our community, state and country.  Please know that my staff and I are working hard each day to identify resources and share current information with you.  It is imperative that you protect yourself, your family and community by following the directives we have received from our county public health officer:

“I have prioritized ending deep childhood poverty since elected to the legislature in 2010. We have made great strides every year and my plan this year is to pull us across the finish line ensuring no CalWORKs family lives below the 50% federal poverty level.  Families living in extreme poverty are particularly vulnerable with so much of their housing in jeopardy.

SACRAMENTO- This week Oprah’s “O Magazine” hits newsstands with Senator Holly J. Mitchell featured in the inside cover. The magazine nominated Sen. Mitchell as one of their 2020 Visionary’s and emphasized her work on the Crown Act.

This year is O Magazine’s 20th anniversary. In honor of the years in print they have chosen 12 visionaries to honor, one featured each month.
