SACRAMENTO – The California Senate today approved a plan confronting the higher rate of California Black women dying during childbirth than women of other racial and ethnic groups.

The California Senate today approved Sen. Holly J. Mitchell’s efforts to fight homelessness wither her low-income housing bill , Senate Bill 329. Measure now goes to the Assembly.

Mitchell (D-Los Angeles) today announced the Senate’s key priorities for the 2019-2020 budget as the June 15, 2019 deadline for passing a budget approaches.
