Staff report recommended city not approve dirty exports

SACRAMENTO – Sen. Loni Hancock, D-Oakland, issued the following statement after today’s vote by the Oakland City Council on a pending coal-export terminal in West Oakland:

 “Kudos to the Oakland City Council for having the courage to do what’s right to help protect the health and long-term environmental goals California has worked so hard to achieve.”

Hancock is author of a package of bills written to halt the coal terminal and others like it.
