SACRAMENTO – Elected leaders, reproductive justice organizations, advocates, and allies are vocalizing support for the constitutional amendment to protect abortion and contraception introduced on Wednesday, June 8 by Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego).

Sacramento, CA - Senate Bill 1177, introduced by State Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – La Cañada Flintridge) which seeks to create an affordable housing regional trust between the cities of Pasadena, Burbank, and Glendale, passed the Assembly Local Government Committee today.

CERRITOS, CA – California State Senator Bob Archuleta (D-Pico Rivera), in conjunction with the California Association of Nonprofits, recognized the Community Family Guidance Center based in the city of Cerritos as the 32nd Senate District’s 2022 nonprofit of the year.  

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) proudly honored Riverside Legal Aid as Senate District 31’s 2022 Nonprofit of the Year. The nonprofit’s Executive Director, Rita Smith, and esteemed member, Ernie Reguly, were welcomed to Sacramento to be honored for the occasion.

Project Safety Net of Palo Alto, named by Senator Josh Becker as the 13th Senate District’s Nonprofit of the Year, took its place today among the state’s outstanding nonprofits that were celebrated at the Capitol. “Project Safety Net’s collaboration with our community organizations, schools and local government has created a strong network of support and services to prevent teen suicides and nurture the mental health and wellness of young people,” said Senator Becker, D-Peninsula.

SACRAMENTO — SunWork Renewable Energy Projects, a nonprofit working to make the adoption of solar power more economically practical for homeowners, preschools and other community organizations, is the NonProfit of the Year for Senate District 10, State Senator Bob Wieckowski announced today.

SACRAMENTO – Today, Senator John Laird announced that he has named Community Human Services (CHS) as Nonprofit of the Year for the 17th Senate District.
CHS is dedicated to providing high quality mental health, substance abuse and homeless services to Monterey County residents.

SACRAMENTO – Today, the Senate Rules Committee, chaired by Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego), voted to approve three new appointments.
