(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Senate Bill (SB) 945, which seeks to establish minimum standards of care and safety at pet boarding facilities, passed out of the Senate Committee on Business, Professions and Economic Development today on a 9 to 0 vote.  SB 945 was introduced by Senator Bill Monning (D-Carmel) and will provide pet boarding operators with clear guidance about the health and safety standards needed at their facilities.

Senator Hueso Introduces Legislation to Enhance Consumer Protections and Safety of Ride-Hailing Services

San Diego, CA…State Senator Ben Hueso, Chair of the Senate Energy, Utilities and Communications Committee, introduced a measure that will strengthen regulatory oversight of ride-hailing services, which are technology enabled transportation services, while supporting their continued growth.   Senate Bill 1035 addresses some of the existing shortcomings of the regulatory oversight of these services.  The bill requires the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to assess and determine public safety, consumer protections and enforcement.

Senator Pavley strengthens Aliso Canyon moratorium bill to ensure energy reliability and public safety

SACRAMENTO -- An independent analysis conducted by University of California medical researchers has found that allowing women to receive a 12-month supply of self-administered contraceptives would result in 15,000 fewer unintended pregnancies and save employers, consumers and government agencies $42.8 million a year each year.
