SACRAMENTO --  Today, U.S. Senators Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer (both D-CA) came out in support of two major climate and clean energy bills that are before the state Legislature, SB 32 and SB 350, and sent this open letter to members of the California State Assembly.Signed letter attached, text below.

Sacramento, CA –Dr. Richard Pan joined a coalition of doctors, nurses, health care professionals, unions, advocates and patients today as he announced he introduced SBX2 13 Pan/Hernandez in the Special Session on Health Care.  Dr. Pan made the following statement on the bill which would increase California’s tobacco tax by $2 per pack:

Sacramento – Senator Tony Mendoza (D-Artesia) will host a Labor Day Family Picnic for the community on Saturday, September 5th, at Artesia Park, 18750 Clarkdale Avenue, Artesia, California. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“It is with great pleasure that I invite the community to my 2015 Labor Day Family Picnic on Saturday, September 5th at Artesia Park. We will have food and refreshments and activities for the whole family. I look forward to seeing many friends and community members at the picnic,” said Senator Tony Mendoza.

Sacramento – Senator Bob Wieckowski (D-Fremont), Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de León and representatives of consumer organizations spoke in support of  the Economic Equity and Financial Stability Initiative, a three-bill package, authored by Wieckowski, to reform California’s bankruptcy and debt collection laws to help low-income families get back on their feet.  A representative from Attorney General Kamala Harris’ office also attended in support of the package.

SACRAMENTO -- Californians have the skill and determination to greatly reduce all forms of air pollution and stave off the specter of climate change, state Sen. Fran Pavley said Tuesday at a Capitol press conference.“We know today that we can do this,” said the Agoura Hills representative, “and we have a moral imperative to do so.”
