Senate Approves Pro Tem De León’s Reso Urging SCOTUS to Uphold “One Person, One Vote”

SACRAMENTO – The Senate today approved a joint resolution by Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de León, urging the U.S. Supreme Court to reject a case out of Texas that challenges the long-held principle of “one person one vote.”

“Many of my neighbors, whose hard work makes Los Angeles function, who pay taxes that support government services, would suddenly become non-entities because of their immigrant status,” De León said. “Like ghosts, they would walk the streets and ride buses invisible to state governance.”
